2010 NFL NFC Championship at Louisiana Superdome
No. 3 Minnesota Vikings Vs. No. 5 New Orleans Saints
Sunday, January 24th At 6:30PM ET- on FOX
The NFC championship comes down to the Saints and the Vikings. Both teams destroyed their opponents last week, with Minnesota winning 34-3 and New Orleans, 45-14. Which quarterback will be up to the challenge of taking it all the way to the super bowl? QB Favre, now at age 40, hasn’t won a Super Bowl since 1997. The Saints have yet to see a Super Bowl. QB Drew Brees has a total of 34 TD’s with 2,336 yards passing. While QB Favre trails by only one TD with 33TD’s and 4,202 Yards passing.
It looks to be a very close game with the Saints only favored by 4 points, although both teams have top notch running backs to choose from. The Saints RB Pierre Thomas has been doing very well this season with 6TD’s and 793 yards rushing, The Vikings have Adrian Peterson with a stunning 18TD’s and 1,383 yards rushing.
The Saints’ defense ranked at 28 better be sure to keep Minnesota out of the end zone. The Vikings still currently ranked with the #3 defense shouldn’t have too much trouble keeping QB Brees contained. It could still be a close game seeing as all of Minnesota’s losses were away games. Also, the last time the Saints saw a NFC game was in the 2006 season when they lost to Chicago.
