Tennessee Titans – 2009 Preview
2008 Record: 13-3
Head Coach: Jeff Fisher
Doing much better than many sports experts had expected, the Tennessee Titans went 13-3 in 2008 and made the playoffs before being eliminated by the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round. After coming so close to winning it all in 2009, the Titans still have the Super Bowl on their mind. Last year’s second ranked brutal defense had a lot to do with the club’s success. Unfortunately, as good as they are expected to be in 2009, they’ll be minus star DT Albert Haynesworth this year.
Regardless of the key defensive loss, the 2009 season is looking bright for the Titans. The coaching staff remains strong, the 7th ranked rushing offense returns (centered around RBs Chris Johnson and LenDale White), and the Titans secondary is among the best in the NFL.
The Tennessee Titans preseason is longer than and begins earlier than most. They play Buffalo in the Hall of Fame game on Sunday, August 9th, at 8PM ET (NBC). On Saturday, August 15th they play Tampa Bay at home. They then play at Dallas on August 21st, at Cleveland on August 29th, and Green Bay at home on September 3rd – 1 week before their regular season begins.
