New England Patriots – 2009 Preview

2008 Record: 11-5

Head Coach: Bill Bellichick

It didn’t take long for a perfect 2007 season to go bad; real bad.  The Giants victory over The New England Patriots in the Super Bowl was just the beginning of the disappointment that the program would face.  Only 8 minutes into the following season’s first rebound effort, Quarterback Tom Brady went down with a season-ending knee injury.   With his recovery now complete, Tom Brady will be back behind the center when they take on Baltimore September 14th.

Many questions surround the return of Tom Brady.  Is the 2007 Tom Brady Back?  How much of an impact will a year off have on team chemistry?  Is the real 2007 rebound effort just now beginning? MCL/ACL returns can be difficult. It’s hard to know what to expect.   Assuming that Brady is as healthy as we expect him to be, the 2009 Patriots offense could be just as explosive as the one in 2007.  Receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker, and running back Fred Taylor’s arrival, should ensure success.  As long as their misfortune does not continue, we’ll see an even better Patriot’s team than we did last year.

Prediction:  The 2009 season will be an exciting one for New England fans.  The program has a lot to fight for this year.  We predict that they will win the AFC East and make it back to the AFC Championship game.  Super Bowl bound again? I think so.
Record: 14-2

Odds that the New England Patriots win the 2010 Super Bowl are 4-1 (according to Sportbook.com)
