Green Bay Packers – 2009 Preview
2008 Record: 6-10
Head Coach: Mike McCarthy
After an exciting 13-3 season in 2007, fans were disappointed to see the Green Bay Packers lose 10 games in 2008. It was their defense that struggled to keep up. Head Coach Mike McCarthy decided to bring in Dom Capers as defensive coordinator. Capers plans to replace the existing 4-3 defense, with the 3-4 defense that he used in Miami.
With improvement expected on defense (based on coaching changes and draft picks), a solid offense returning, and a favorable schedule, we should be able to expect an improved record and a shot at the playoffs.
The Green Bay Packers started off their preseason with a win at home against Cleveland on Saturday, August 15th. The final score was 17-0. Their next preseason game will be at home against Buffalo on Saturday, August 22nd, 8PM ET. They then play at Arizona on August 28th, and at Tennessee on September 3rd – ten days before their regular season begins.
