New York Jets – 2009 Preview
2008 Record: 9-7
Head Coach: Rex Ryan
With some good draft picks and a new Head Coach in town, New York Jets fans have a lot to look forward to this year. First round draft pick QB Mark Sanchez (former USC star QB) joins the squad and Rex Ryan starts his first head coaching job. Rex Ryan, who spent the last 10 years with the Baltimore Ravens, is known for a strong defensive mind and a fiery attitude.
Even with excitement in the air, it’s probably safe to say that the Jets won’t do much better (and might even be worse) than they were last year. With a brand new coach, a new coaching staff, and adjustments needed to be made on offense (especially with the departure of Brett Favre), this might be a .500 season.
Expect the 2010 season to bring more success than this one. By then, chemistry between Mark Sanchez and the rest of the offense should be where it needs to be, the defense will be even better, and the Jets will have a brand new stadium to call home. If all goes as planned, you can look forward to a 10+ win season in 2010, but for now, expect no more than 8. See prediction and odds below.
