Philadelphia Eagles – 2009 Preview
2008 Record: 9-6-1
Head Coach: Andy Reid
Although they improved upon their 2007 8-8 season, last year’s 9 wins just didn’t cut it for the notoriously devoted & impatient Eagles fans. Considering their 5-5-1 start and against-all-odds sprint towards the playoffs, it wasn’t a horrible season. Unfortunately, with a Conference Championship loss, it wasn’t good enough. Expectations are higher than ever this year; and for good reason. A few good NFL draft picks (WR Jeremy Maclin and RB LeSean Mcoy among them), improved protection for McNabb on the offensive line, and some smart free agency additions should ensure an improved 2009 Eagles football season. Although their regular season schedule is tough, they should have a shot at finishing on top of the NFC East.
The Philadelphia Eagles begin their preseason against New England at home on Thursday, August 13th 7:30PM ET. They then play at Indianapolis on August 20th, against Jacksonville at home on August 27th, and at the NY Jets on September 3rd – ten days before their regular season begins.
