Miami Dolphins – 2009 Preview
2008 Record: 11-5
Head Coach: Tony Sparano
Last year the Miami Dolphins surprised everybody. They won 11 games and made the playoffs just one year after going 1-15! It was probably the biggest turnaround in the history of professional football. Executive Vice President, Bill Parcell’s decision to go to Miami, instead of Atlanta, proved to be a good one for the Dolphins. The addition of NFL’s all-time completion percentage leader, Chad Pennington, didn’t hurt either. Last year he won the Comeback Player of the Year award for the second time.
In 2009, we’ll find out how much better the Dolphins really are. Can they build on the momentum that they started last year? They’re better managed and better coached. Still, the defense is young and the offense probably isn’t capable of producing much more than they did last year. In order for them to advance any further than last year, they’ll need to find bigger playmakers.
