San Diego Chargers – 2009 Preview
2008 Record: 8-8
Head Coach: Norv Turner
After an impressive performance in the play offs and another AFC West title in 2007, many thought that the San Diego Chargers were in line to play in the Super Bowl after the 2008 season. Instead, with injuries and some bad luck, they went 8-8. They were still able to win the AFC West title but came short of making the playoffs.
With the same offense returning, depth in the QB position, and many impact players back from injuries, 2009 looks like it will be a promising season for the Chargers. Head Coach Norv Turner , and most of the same coaching staff, return for their third year. The Chargers have a strong offensive line, one of the best special teams in pro football, and an athletic defense led by Ron Rivera who took over in the middle of the season last year.
Expect a stronger San Diego Chargers in 2009. They’re thirsty for the play offs again and they should have the tools they need to get there. With a record better than 8-8 in 2009, Norv Turner shouldn’t have to worry about losing his job.
San Diego will start off their preseason against Seattle at home on Sat, Aug 15, 10PM. They then play at Arizona, at Atlanta, and against San Francisco at home.
