NFL Cincinnati Bengals Team Preview 2009

Cincinnati Bengals – 2009 Preview

2008 Record: 4-11-1

Head Coach: Marvin Lewis

Hopeful fans experienced a disappointing 2008 season.  Storyline:  Bad luck and a handful of injuries (including QB Carson Palmer) resulted in a horrible record and the Bengals finishing last in NFL points scored; another sad ending.  Read on – the 2009 Bengals season will be Chapter 2, A Continuing Uphill battle, by Marvin Lewis.  Synopsis: The Cincinnati Bengals try to do something with a young, but growing defense, and five new starters on offense.  Fortunately, the Bengals showed some promise at the end of the 2008 season.

A few big-name draft picks, a fully-recovered quarterback, and Chad Johnson –excuse me Chad Ochocinco (name legally changed to reflect his jersey number, 85) – might have what it takes to bring the Bengals close to the .500 mark in 2009.

The Cincinnati Bengals begin their preseason on Friday, August 14th at New Orleans, 8:00 PM ET.  They then play at New England on Thursday August 20th, vs. St. Louis at home on August 27th and vs. Indianapolis at home on September third ten days before their regular season begins.
