2010 BIG 12 Football Preview and Predictions – Part 2
Nebraska, Missouri
Nebraska Cornhuskers
Head Coach: Bo Pelini
The Cornhuskers went 10-4 overall and easily won their Holiday Bowl appearance against Arizona last season. The biggest accomplishment, but also most devastating moment, last year was their one-point, final second field goal loss to the Texas Longhorns. A victory, which they could taste all the way up until the last second, would have prevented the Longhorns from playing Alabama in the National Championship game against Alabama. Despite the outcome, fans were proud…and they’re excited for the 2010 season. The Cornhuskers are ranked 8 in the preseason polls and are favored by many to win the Big 12 before joining the Big 10 conference in 2011. They look strong on both sides of the ball. One of their biggest advantages is extensive depth in most positions. Even with the loss of defensive monster Ndamukong Suh, the Blackshirt defense will be tough for any team to get past.

Missouri Tigers
Head Coach: Gary Pinkel
Even after losing star QB Chase Daniels, the Missouri Tigers managed to surprise a few people last year. They went 8-5, which was better than most people predicted. They finished their regular season off strong with 3 Big 12 wins, but lost their bowl game against Navy, 35-13. This Fall, an even more experienced Missouri team will be taking the field. They should be a legitimate contender for the Big 12 north in 2010.
