Thanksgiving day, Kyle Field Texas. Both the #3 Longhorns and unranked Aggies will be gunning for a win on this national stage. Opening line has Texas favored by 22 points. Colt McCoy, Texas' stud QB, had one of his best games last week as Texas absolutely trampled Kansas 51-20. The spread in that macthup was a mighty 27 points which Texas covered and the over of 57 points busted easily. McCoy completed 32-of-41 for 396 yards for Texas, and James Kirkendoll had two catches in the win.
Texas A&M is coming off one heck of a performance as well, beating down in-state rival Baylor, 38-3. TEX AM was only favored by 5.5 in this one and if you took the Aggies you never worried much about losing your cash.
Texas and Texas A&M have a long storied history and rivalry with Texas being the superior team in recent years. Texas is 7-2 SU in its last 9 games when playing Texas A&M. But with these types of games there are intangibles. On paper, Texas should roll and win fairly easily. But there is the factor that Texas may be looking past the Aggies because they are already slated to play in the Big 12 Championship game against Nebraska. Plus a lot of these players know each other well. These kids have been competing against each other in the state of Texas for a long time, most of their lives in fact. Pop Warner, Pee Wee League, Middle School, High School, and now on the Collegiate level in front of a Turkey stuffed nation, doped up on Tryptophan.
For these reasons we believe that A&M will keep it closer than 22. The Longhorns may pull away at the end but look for a "backyard brawl" of sorts for most of this game.
