A West Coast battle between two of the best teams out there. The (17-8) Washington State Cougars travel to take on the #12 (21-4) Arizona Wildcats.  Oddsmakers have the Arizona squad as 8.5 favorites over Washington State and the total is right around 143.  Both teams are coming off of important wins. Washington State just beat Cal 75-71 and Arizona traveled to rival Arizona State and pummeled them 67-52. So what will give tonight?

Well for starters, one can tell Arizona is the better team and they are playing at home. They are ranked 12 in the nation and have the better record by four games or so.  Arizona has won it's last five and Washington State is 3-2 in that same stretch.  But, Wash. State plays well against the Wildcats.  The last time there was a 10 or more point victory was five games ago (2 years ago) when Washington State beat Arizona 69-53.

Arizona has the edge on offense, averaging 78 points per game compared to only 72 of Washington State.  They both average right around 66 points points allowed on defense. The play here is NOT the total. 143 is right around where it should be and Arizona has gone over 4 of last 5 games and Washington State has gone under 4 of the last 5 games.  Although Arizona is clearly the better team and playing at home to boot, we cannot help but take Washington State +8.5.
