NCAA March Madness

Avoid Last Year’s March Madness Mismatches

As one year turns into another, sports fans start to look forward to the action ahead and you know countless people are counting down the days until March Madness. Many consider March Madness to be the finest sporting event of the year and with so many teams on show, it is certainly the best that NCAA has to offer. With 68 of the best NCAA basketball teams on show and playing off against each other the best teams in the country are involved but there can also be some smaller teams making it through as well.

This often leads to some mismatches in the early stages and if you are looking for good value bets, they can be hard to come by. In the past 16 years, the number one seed has never lost in the first round, the number two seeds have only lost three times in a 16 year period.

Placing a bet increases your interest

March Madness is not all about the odds and laying bets but it adds an extra level of spice to the tournament and gives fans a reason to take an interest. If your team never made it through to March Madness or they are knocked out early, having a bet or two on the outcome of the matches will have you rooting for a new team in no time at all.

Like most sports, NCAA basketball features the best teams getting stronger and stronger and this was certainly the case in the 2010 March Madness. Previous years results are no indicator of future scores but do not be surprised if some of the games in the 2011 March Madness look decidedly one sided. So many of the small teams that sneak into the event are just not capable of taking on the big guns and one or two may take a big loss.

The Blue Devils look strong favorites
The Blue Devils from the ACC appear to be the best team in the country and they even look capable of blowing away some of the stronger teams in the competition. Heaven help any small team that comes up against them. Equally, Pittsburgh from the Big East and Ohio State from the Big Ten are showing great form at the right time as well.

With 68 teams involved, there are bound to be some mismatches taking place but remember that there is not a great deal of value to be had from these matchups.
