Wednesday night there is a battle between two mediocre Big Ten teams.  The 8-11 Iowa Hawkeyes travel to take on the 10-8 Penn State Nittany Lions.  This is a down year for the Iowa team as they usually finish with a winning record and are at least near the top of the Big Ten standings.  They have a very talented team they just can't seem to pull it together to win games.  Penn State on the other hand hasn't been much of a threat in recent years.  In proof of this fact, Iowa is 7-3 in it's last 10 matchups against Penn State.  Tonight at 6:30 PM EST, these two teams will face off once again.

On Sunday, Iowa turned in an impressive effort when they defeated Indiana 91-77. Even though Indiana was without their best player (lost for the season to injury), the win was still very impressive.  Iowa was favored by two (-2) in that contest and the total (over/under) was 137. Well the favorites and the "over" covered easily, needless to say.  In their last outing, Penn State lost a tough one to Purdue,  63-62.  Even though this was a heartbreaker for Penn State, it shows what they are capable of. Purdue is a top team in the country and they almost beat them out right. In that game Purdue was favored by thirteen (-13) and the total was 128.  Penn State obviously covered the 13 and the total went UNDER.

Tonight's game should be an easy win for Penn State in our opinion.  Penn State is clearly more talented than their 10-8 record suggests. Furthermore, Iowa's entire season has been plagued by mistakes and turnovers.  We see a Penn State team that establishes itself early and cruises to a ten point win. Take Penn State -7.
