Marquette vs. Georgetown

Marquette is on a little bit of a roll in this tourney having just defeated number 10 Villanova 80-76 yesterday.  But that win is not nearly as impressive as Georgetown beating Syracuse 91-84.  But this Georgetown team is very bi-polar. They can beat the best of teams one day and then lose to a "cellar dweller" the next.

G'town comes in with a 22-9 record (10-8 conf.) and Marquette with a 22-10 record (11-7 conf.). These teams match up really well.  That's why we are leaning to taking points no matter who's favored in this one.  Bodog currently has the Hoyas favored by 4.  So we are taking Marquette.  We love streaking teams. Ride the streak is what I always say. Marquette has won 11 of their last 13 games and in my opinion are much better than they have played this season.  Lazar Hayward is a beast and is averaging 18.2 pts. per contest and pulling down over 7 boards as well. But that isn't even the best part.  The guard play of Marquette has been amazing.  Darius Johnson-Odom is coming off a 24 point performance.

Georgetown, on the other hand, is not so hot.  They have lost four of their last eight.  And when you bet on them you have to hope and prey you get them on a good day. They are as temperamental as it gets.  The Hoyas opened the season 8-0. So you do the math.  They went a paltry 12-10 after the string start.  Not to mention, six of those eight teams were complete cream puffs.
 
Take Marquette all day in this one.  They may win outright.
