The Bulls have been on somewhat of a high lately. They just beat conference foes Orlando Magic in Orlando. And the Magic had just pulled off a stunning comeback win against the Miami Heat. So by all logic, the Bulls are the team to beat right now. They travel to Miami Sunday March 6 to give Miami a chance to do just that. The early line is Miami -5. Record wise the teams are almost exactly the same. The Bulls are 42-18 and the Heat are 43-19. Against the Spread, however, the Bulls have faired much better. They are 37-22-1 vs. Miami's 28-33-1. This is for two reasons. Miami has had overblown spreads most of the season based on their starting lineup. Chicago, on the other hand, has been very surprising. People knew they would be better this year, but they are surpassing many expectations.
Heads up these teams are 5-5 of the last ten ATS. They both average around 100 points on offense but Chicago's defense is a little better, allowing 5 points less per game. Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh will all be playing at full strength on Sunday and they really want this win, especially after the fact that they have lost 4 of their last 5 games! Conversely, the Bulls come in with some confidence. They have won 4 of their last 5 games.
So what's going to give? We are leaning toward a Miami Heat win and cover here. I expect D-Wade to really come out and put on a show. To me he is STILL the best player in Miami and will be for a year or two until his leg's finally give out some.
