The Washington Wizards (21-46) and Los Angeles Lakers (51-18 overall) meet up at the Staples Center tonight for what should be a close one…Just kidding. A game like this requires some “Action”. No doubt, the Washington Wizards have “upset” on their mind. Unfortunately, the lacking-magic Wizards will certainly be “upset” to leave LA with their 11th straight win. The Lakers shouldn’t have a problem extending their current winning streak to 6 this evening.
As of now, the only uncertainty that the Lakers will be dealing with is the health of Andrew Bynum. Bynum, the team’s leading scorer with 15 points per game, might not be able to play tonight after straining his left Achilles tendon during the win over Minnesota on Friday. The injury-prone center missed games earlier this season due to elbow and hip injuries. Still, Los Angeles is 4-0 without Andrew Bynum, and he probably won’t be needed in a game like this. Expect the Lakers to ensure proper recovery with a benched Bynum.
The tired Wizards hope to get something going tonight after a close one at Portland on Friday. They rallied from a 16-point deficit, but lost on Brandon Roy’s jumper with just a second left. The final score was 76-74.
The Lakers are favored by 12.5 points. The total is listed at 194. Few of the Wizards recent losses have been close. The last time these two teams met up (late January in Washington), resulted in a 115-103 Lakers victory. Expect Los Angeles to roll over the Wizards on their way to the play offs.
