Detroit Tigers
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
10:05 PM EST
This is a great pitching matchup, perhaps the best of the day. (11-3) Justin Verlander takes on (7-5) Dan Haren. Throw the records of these two pitchers out because the ERA says everything you need to know. Haren is 2.88 and Verlander is 2.32. Simply amazing ERA's. Both teams have the same exact record at 45-41. The Angels won last night 5-1 in the first matchup of this series. Tori Hunter and Vernon Wells went yard in route to helping their teams pull off a big 4th of July day win.
Detroit is actually slightly favored in this game tonight. This is because the better record and slightly better ERA of Verlander. Detroit is -120 to LAA being +110. One thing that must be remembered here is that both pitchers are "no-hitter" and "Cy Young Award" quality pitchers. This particular matchup screams UNDER but at only 6 runs this is a hard sell. So we are leaning toward taking the home underdogs here.
Give me a home team with Dan Haren and an underdog payout of +110 and I will take it. If you are feeling super adventurous take the Run Line LAA +1.5 and the UNDER as well. But I am sticking to the Angels +110. Good luck.
